Amber Marie Beard has over 11 years of global experience in sustainable leadership positions across a variety of industries including construction, development, real estate finance and hospitality. She is a member of the firm’s Sustainability Committee. She started her career as Senior Sustainability Manager for Lend Lease in the United States where she lead 13 offices across the country in green building, sustainable construction practices, enhanced construction waste management and implementation of corporate sustainability mandates.
In 2009 she decided to relocate to one of the most exciting regions of the world in terms of sustainability – Asia. Amber joined the development department China Resources, a Chinese state-owned company, in Hong Kong. She headed sustainability for the company in the role of Project Architect, LEED AP leading Hong Kong’s notable first LEED Gold redevelopment project, as well as new projects for the company. Having worked in development Amber’s interest in real estate grew and joined Sustainable Ltd. as Director and Head of Sustainability. Sustainable Ltd. is a real estate investment finance company in Singapore that is focused on investing in property portfolios that turn both a financial and environmental ROI.
Three years ago Amber decided to make the jump into hospitality when offered the exciting opportunity to leverage all her previous experience under one company – Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas. She serves as Vice President Sustainability to Six Senses in Bangkok where she leads ground up sustainability approaches in development of new properties, management of existing operations as well as strategic business integration.
